  1. Mr. This and That - it's a diseased hydrangea leaf that reminded me of zombie decay, so I had to photograph it. The Walking Dead season premiere is this Sunday so my brains are a bit biased. 0.o

  7. You do have an eye for the unique. I would probably have seen the leaf and plucked it off of my plant and thrown it into the yard waste bin, never thinking to photograph it.

  8. That looked creepy! It looks like a diseased leaf attacked by fungus. Did you capture this from jungle or near to locality?

  9. From spring time growth to autumn's decay and winter's death, the wheel will turn again and resurrection will come with the return of the sun in spring. I will comfort myself with this knowledge when the snow is flying outside my window this winter. ;)
    Great photo and quote!

  12. Everyone - thank you for all the compliments!

AsteropeBC - Good question. Since plants don't have brains, perhaps they eat each others' chloroplasts instead.

Ben Dunn - the leaf is part of a diseased bush, right outside my day job in Delaware. Its leaves are covered with dark purple spots.

Serena - your quote is lovely, too!

  14. Beautiful shot! I have this weird obsession with decaying leaves, lichens, and mushrooms, lol. So I'm totally feeling this picture.

Linked up with you! Thanks! :)

  21. I know I am a little strange, but I sorta see the face of a frog in the leaf -- the 2 eyes and the big mouth opening -- sort of like kermit ;). Love the picture!!!!
